John Henry Cardinal Newman - The Venerable John Henry Cardinal Newman (February 21 1801 – August 11 1890) was an English convert to Catholicism, later made a cardinal. In early life he was a major figure in the Oxford Movement to bring the Church of England back to its Catholic roots.

Oxford University Newman Society - The Oxford University Newman Society is arguably Oxford University's oldest student society, and certainly its oldest Catholic society.
